FACING THE WAVES

Facing The Waves Waves is Dogwood's new musical from

an award-winning composer.

Henry Freeman: an iconic Victorian hero

The sole survivor of the 1861 Whitby lifeboat disaster, Henry strives to prove himself, both to his community and himself, as he takes on the mantle of coxswain of the Whitby lifeboat.

Faith: RNLI crew member.

Following in the footsteps of those who came before her, Faith takes on every challenge presented to her. Work. Family. Crew. But life by the sea isn’t all chips and ice cream, and not everyone can be saved.

This is a tale about our relationship with the sea, the reality of living in coastal towns and the pressures facing those who crew the lifeboats.

Ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

A timeless responsibility that stretches across the centuries.
